Founded in 2002, China Organic Food Certification Center (COFCC) is an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China dedicated in organic certification and promoting the development of organic agriculture.It is also the first organic product certification agency in China approved by the China National Certification and Accreditation Supervision and Administration Commission. Meanwhile COFCC undertakes the daily work of the Office of the Joint and Integrated Mechanism for Organic Agricultural Products( The Organic Office).
China Organic Food Certification Center（COFCC for short） is the specific agency of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs dedicated in promoting organic agriculture development. According to the functions and responsibilities of China Green Food Development Center (CGFDC for short) given by State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform, CGFDC founded the Joint linkage mechanism office of organic agriculture and organic agricultural products (Organic Office for short). The daily works of Organic Office is undertaken by COFCC.
Based on the working system of CGFDC , each province establishes agricultural and rural administrative work institutions, there are 36 provincial-level working institutions, ten regional workstations, one research center in Suzhou and 324 organic product inspectors working for COFCC organic certification.
